Abner Wimberly
Abner Wimberly (May 4, 1926 – September 18, 1976) was an American football player who played three seasons for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He also played one season in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) with the Los Angeles Dons. He played college football at Louisiana State University. He was inducted into the LSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1949. Wimberly died on September 18, 1976, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, from injuries he received in the crash of a private Piper aircraft. Anthony Rene Wimberly (né Lee; born October 26, 1962) is an American criminal and serial killer. Between December 1984 and January 1985, he murdered three women in Oakland, California, Oakland for the purpose of robbery, as well as raping a 12-year-old girl. After his arrest, he confessed to his crimes and was later given three life sentences. Adlai Byron "By" Wimberly (September 3, 1892 – May 12, 1956) was an American football player and coach of football, basketball, and baseball. He played college football at Washington & Jefferson College and professionally for the Detroit Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). Wimberly served as the head football coach at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania (1919), Illinois Wesleyan University (1921–1922), and Washington University in St. Louis (1923–1924), compiling a career college football coaching record of 19–18–4. John M. Wimberley (born July 1945) is an American photographer and artist. He has photographed extensively in the American west. His body of work also includes figurative work of women underwater, and a large number of photographs of American Indian rock art. Wimberley has formulated two black-and-white photographic film developers that are sold commercially. He has also integrated his personal beliefs about metaphysics and spirituality into his photographic work. In addition, he leads a workshop titled ''Sight & Insight'' in which he teaches his personal methods for selecting photographic subjects. Wimberley's photographs have appeared in over 70 exhibitions, multiple publications, and over 500 collections.
