Richview, formally known as Willowridge-Martingrove-Richview, is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded on the west by Highway 401 and on the north by the highway and by Dixon Road, Royal York Road on the east, and Eglinton Avenue West along the south. Richview was originally established as a postal village within the then-agricultural Etobicoke Township, which later became the suburb of Etobicoke. History One part of the existing neighbourhood predates the suburbanization of the area. The first settler was William Knaggs who established his home and farm near Rich view Side road (Eglinton) and red Concession (Highway 427) in 1818. A later settler, Christopher Kit Thirkle, gave the areas earlier name Kit's Corners. Richview began in 1852 when a post office called "Richview" opened in this area. Eglinton Avenue
Eglinton Avenue is a major east–west arterial thoroughfare in Toronto and Mississauga in the Canadian province of Ontario. The street begins at Highway 407 (but does not interchange with the tollway) at the western limits of Mississauga, as a continuation of Lower Baseline in Milton. It traverses the midsection of both cities and ends at Kingston Road. Eglinton Avenue is the only street to cross all six former boroughs of Metropolitan Toronto. Kipling Collegiate Institute (Kipling CI, KCI, or Kipling) is a public high school in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the former suburb of Etobicoke under the management of the Toronto District School Board, operating since 1960.
