Willow Tree, New South Wales
Willow Tree is a village composed of about 308 people, located in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the Liverpool Plains, 14 kilometres south of Quirindi, New South Wales, Quirindi near the junction of the Kamilaroi Highway, Kamilaroi and New England Highways. The town itself is small but the farms extend southwest out to the township of Warrah, New South Wales, Warrah. It is a service centre to the rural areas of Warrah and Mount Parry. History Willow Tree is located at the north-eastern corner of the enormous Warrah grant which was made out to the Australian Agricultural Company in 1833. An inn was established on the future town site, at the junction of the roads north to Quirindi and north-east to Wallabadah in the mid-19th century. Willow Tree Railway Station
Willow Tree railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the village of Willow Tree, opening on 13 August 1877 as Warrah when the line was extended from Murrururundi to Quirindi. It was renamed Willow Tree in 1879. The station has one platform and a passing loop. It had a locomotive turntable, primarily for bank engines used on the steeply graded banks over the Liverpool Range to Ardglen Tunnel south of the village. Aurizon and Pacific National still use bank locomotives on some services today. Willow Tree (LIRR Station)
Willow Tree was a Main Line Long Island Rail Road station that was opened on the north side of the tracks and the west side of 183rd Street, then known as Hamilton Street. It was located in what is today the Hollis section of Queens, New York City. History Willow Tree station opened on March 1, 1837, when Long Island Rail Road service opened to Hicksville. The land for the Willow Tree station was and was purchased on April 18, 1836. Willow Tree can be found in timetables as early as October 1, 1852, and as late as November 4, 1867. In the year ending June 30, 1861, 75,650 quarts of milk were received from the Willow Tree station. An 1868 book says that only the Sunday excursion trains, and the North Islip and Hempstead passenger trains regularly stop there. Tash Sultana (born 15 June 1995) is an Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and engineer, described as a " one-woman band". Plot summary The protagonist is a thirteen-year-old African American boy named Bobby who lives in an apartment in South Bronx with his mother and siblings. Despite his young age Bobby has intelligence that is superior to most of the people around him. Bobby's Hispanic girlfriend Maria often spend time together and have plans for the upcoming summer. Bobby and Maria's lives are shattered when a vicious Hispanic street gang attack Bobby and Maria while the two were walking to school. Bury Me Beneath The Willow
"Bury Me Beneath the Willow" is a traditional ballad folk song, listed as number 410 in the Roud Folk Song Index. It is also known as "Bury Me Beneath the Weeping Willow", "The Weeping Willow", "The Willow Tree" and "Under the Willow Tree". Its author is unknown. The first citation to the song appears in Henry Marvin Belden's 1909 compilation ''Ballads and Songs Collected by the Missouri Folk-Lore Society'' as "Under the Willow Tree". The song's lyrics relate that the singer's lover has left her (in some descriptions just prior to their wedding). She asks that she be buried beneath the willow tree, in the hopes that her lover will still think of her. Willow Tree is a line of figurine sculptures created by artist Susan Lordi in January 2000. Overview The Willow Tree line is made up rustic faceless people and angels (and also dogs and cats) intended to represent feelings or life events. The figurines, which include a nativity scene, are made from hand-painted resin which is cast from Lordi's hand-carved clay sculptures. Lordi partnered with the Demdaco company to produce, market and distribute Willow Tree figurines. The line is available nationwide in independent gift shops and Hallmark stores.
