Willie Newbigging (Scottish Footballer)
William Menzies Newbigging (27 December 1874 – 16 October 1954) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Tottenham Hotspur, Motherwell, Folkestone, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. Career Newbigging started his career with local club Lanark County before joining Tottenham Hotspur for the 1896–97 season when the club turned professional. His debut occurred on 5 September 1896 against Sheppey United in the Southern League Division One. He left after one season with Spurs and went on to play for Motherwell (no appearances in major competitions recorded), Folkestone, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and then back to his hometown club. Larkhall
Larkhall ( sco, Larkhauch, gd, Taigh na h-Uiseig) is a town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, around southeast of Glasgow. It is twinned with Seclin in northern France. Larkhall sits on high ground between the River Clyde to the East and the Avon Water to the West. Larkhall sits on the edge of the scenic Clyde valley and is a commuter town for Glasgow. Larkhall had a population of 14,951 in the 2011 UK Census, and is a typical Scottish former industrial town. Traditionally a mining, weaving and textile area, most of Larkhall's traditional industries have now closed down, including the Lanarkshire ironworks. Toponym The name Larkhall or ''Laverock Ha'' first appears in journals around 1620. The origins of the name are unknown, although Laverock is the Scots word for ''skylark''. The United League was an association football league that existed in England from 1896 to 1902 and again from 1905 to 1909. The league was created in 1896 to provide clubs which played in other leagues in southern or central England with an additional midweek game. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). James Bellingham (footballer)
James Bellingham (9 April 1877 – 1 October 1955) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a centre half in the Football League for Grimsby Town. During his second spell with Southern League club Brentford, he took on the role of the club's secretary while secretary-manager Dick Molyneux was ill. Willesden () is an area of northwest London, situated 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Charing Cross.
