Willie Moore (Limerick Hurler)
William Moore (born 1950) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Limerick senior hurling team. Moore made his first appearance for the team during the 1971 championship and became a regular player over the next few seasons. During that time he won one All-Ireland winners' medal and back-to-back Munster winners' medals. At club level Moore enjoyed a lengthy career with Doon, however, he ended his career without claiming a county club championship winners' medal. Playing career Club Moore played his club hurling with his local Doon club. Inter-county Moore first came to prominence as a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team in the early 1970s. In 1973 he won his first Munster Championship medal, Limerick's first since 1955. Limerick later faced Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final, however, the Munster champions were burdened with the underdogs tag. Doon GAA
Doon GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, founded in 1888. It is based in the village of Doon in County Limerick, Ireland. The club is part of the East Division of the Limerick GAA and has a tremendous record at underage level, but has yet to win a County Senior Hurling Championship. The club only plays hurling, but footballers in the parish play with neighbouring Oola. The manager is Austin Buckley. Location The club is located in the parish of Doon, mostly in County Limerick but also containing a few townlands in County Tipperary; these can play with the other club in the parish, Glengar, which is affiliated to the Tipperary GAA County Board. Séamus Horgan
Séamus Horgan (born 1946) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a goalkeeper for the Limerick senior team. Horgan made his first appearance for the team during the 1972-73 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1976. During that time he won one All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winners' medal and two Munster winners' medals. At club level Horgan played with Tournafulla in a career that spanned four decades. Playing career Club Horgan played his club hurling with his local Tournafulla club. He enjoyed some success as he minded the Tournafulla net for four decades. One of his last games was a county final at intermediate level in 1994 when Horgan was 48 years old. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Since 1891 the site has been used by the GAA to host Gaelic sports, including the annual All-Ireland in Gaelic football and hurling. Pat Delaney (Kilkenny Hurler)
Patrick "Pat" Delaney (1942 – 19 August 2013) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Delaney first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-six when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team, making his debut in the 1968 championship. Delaney went on to play a key part for Kilkenny in what has come to be known as one of the greatest teams of all-time, and won four All-Ireland medals, six Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. The Limerick Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bon Secours Hospital County Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick SHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Limerick in Ireland.
