William And Mousie Powell Award
The William and Mousie Powell Award is an award given each year since 1986 by the LPGA Tour to a player who "whose behavior and deeds best exemplifies the spirit, ideals and values of the LPGA." The recipient is selected annually by a vote of LPGA Tour members. The award was renamed to the Founders Award in 2019. It was established by Mousie Powell, an honorary member and longtime supporter of the LPGA, and named in honor of Powell and her husband, William Powell, a Hollywood actor of the mid-twentieth century. LPGA Tour
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female professional golfers from around the world. Organization and history Other "LPGAs" exist in other countries, each with a geographical designation in its name, but the U.S. organization is the first, largest, and best known. The LPGA is also an organization for female club and teaching professionals. Karrie Ann Webb (born 21 December 1974) is an Australian professional golfer. Amanda Blumenherst (born November 4, 1986) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was a three-time National Player of the Year at Duke University and won the U.S. Women's Amateur title in 2008. is a former Japanese professional golfer who competed on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Japan Tour (JLPGA). Lorena Ochoa Reyes (; born 15 November 1981) is a Mexican former professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. Hilary Lunke
Hilary Lunke (born Hilary Homeyer on June 7, 1979) is a retired American professional golfer best known for winning the 2003 U.S. Women's Open. Homeyer was born in Edina, Minnesota. She attended Stanford University and became a member of the LPGA Tour in 2002. On July 7, 2003, Lunke defeated Kelly Robbins and Angela Stanford in an 18-hole playoff to win the U.S. Women's Open for her first and only LPGA win. Natalie Anne Gulbis (born January 7, 1983) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Golf career Gulbis was born and raised in the Sacramento, California, area. Vicki Goetze-Ackerman (born October 17, 1972) is an American professional golfer. Goetze was born in Mishicot, Wisconsin. Living in Hull, Georgia, she was voted "Player of the Year" from 1988 to 1990 by the American Junior Golf Association.
