William W. Campbell (New York Congressman)
William Wallace Campbell (June 10, 1806 – September 7, 1881) was an American author, historian, lawyer and politician from New York. Life He was born in Cherry Valley, New York, Cherry Valley, Otsego County, New York, the son of Judge James S. Campbell, and grandson of American Revolutionary War Colonel Samuel Campbell and s:The Women of the American Revolution/Jane Campbell, Jane Campbell. He attended the common schools, and graduated from Union College in 1827. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1831, and commenced practice in New York City. He was elected on the Know Nothing, American ticket to the 29th United States Congress, holding office from March 4, 1845, to March 3, 1847. He was a justice of the Superior Court of New York City from 1849 to 1855. The New York State Assembly is the lower house of the New York State Legislature, with the New York State Senate being the upper house. There are 150 seats in the Assembly. The New York Court of Appeals is the highest court in the Unified Court System of the State of New York. The Court of Appeals consists of seven judges: the Chief Judge and six Associate Judges who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate to 14-year terms. Myron of Eleutherae ( grc, Μύρων, ''Myrōn'' ), working c. 480–440 BC, was an Athenian sculptor from the mid-5th century BC. He was born in Eleutherae on the borders of Boeotia and Attica.
