William Sharpe (burgess)
William Sharpe (sometimes referred to as Sergeant Sharp(e) or William Sharp) was an early Virginia colonist, soldier, ancient planter, and Virginia Company shareholder who settled in the Bermuda Hundred area that became part of Charles City County, Virginia. He served in the Virginia House of Burgesses in Jamestown, Virginia in 1629. Bill Sharpe (born William Jeffrey Revell Sharpe, 19 November 1952, Bishop's Stortford, England) is a British musician, who has worked as a member of Shakatak, as a solo artist, and with others, such as Gary Numan and Don Grusin. Life and career Sharpe was educated at Bishop's Stortford College. From there he studied music at Birmingham University where he gained an honours degree. Sharpe had classical tuition on piano from an early age. As a teenager, his main interest was piano music from the romantic era, but eventually he found an interest in jazz and rock music. He joined several jazz rock bands as a keyboard player around his native Bishop's Stortford, one of the most successful ones featuring Trevor Horn on bass guitar. He worked for the BBC as a tape op and sound engineer at the Maida Vale Studios for six years, engineering sessions for the John Peel and Kid Jensen shows. William Herschel Sharpe, Jr. (born 1950)was the lead anchor on Charleston, South Carolina broadcast station WCSC-TV. He had been with the station since October 1973.Sharpe retired in 2021 after 48 years at WCSC-TV. Lieutenant William Frederick Nelson Sharpe (December 6, 1892, Prescott, Ontario – February 4, 1915, Brighton, England) - pilot. Sharpe later joined the Royal Flying Corps but was killed in a flying accident. He was the first Canadian pilot to die in World War I. Early Frederick and Ida Bell (née Mills) Sharpe had a son, William Frederick Nelson Sharpe was born in Prescott, Ontario, on December 6, 1892. When he was a child he moved to Ottawa.
