William Robertson (Canterbury Cricketer)
William Robertson (4 March 1864 – 5 April 1912) was a New Zealand cricketer who played first-class cricket for Canterbury from 1894 to 1901 and played in New Zealand's first representative matches. Cricket career An off-spinner who opened the bowling, on his first-class debut for Canterbury against Auckland in January 1894 Robertson took 8 for 59 then, bowling unchanged throughout the second innings, 6 for 48. In his next match he took 6 for 72 (unchanged again) and 2 for 72. Selected for New Zealand's first representative match in February 1894, he was New Zealand's outstanding player, taking 6 for 76 and 4 for 73 in a 160-run loss to New South Wales. He then took seven wickets against Otago and eight against Hawke's Bay to give him 47 wickets in five matches at an average of 12.12. He was New Zealand's leading wicket-taker for the season. Invercargill ( , mi, Waihōpai is the southernmost and westernmost city in New Zealand, and one of the southernmost cities in the world. It is the commercial centre of the Southland region. Arthur Hadfield Fisher (11 February 1871 – 23 March 1961) was a New Zealand cricketer, golfer and businessman. Life and career Fisher was born at Nelson, New Zealand, and was educated at Otago Boys' High School in Dunedin and Waitaki Boys' High School in Oamaru.McCarron, A. Asthma
Asthma is a long-term inflammatory disease of the airways of the lungs. It is characterized by variable and recurring symptoms, reversible airflow obstruction, and easily triggered bronchospasms. Dick Brittenden
Richard Trevor Brittenden (22 August 1919 – 10 June 2002) was from the 1950s to the 1980s New Zealand's most prominent cricket writer. Early life, family and career Brittenden was born at Rakaia on 22 August 1919, and was educated at Christchurch Boys' High School from 1933 to 1937. In October 1940 he married Joy Mantell, and the couple went on to have five children. His grandson, Nick Perry, is a journalist with the Associated Press. During World War II, Brittenden served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in Britain and the Bahamas. The New South Wales men's cricket team (formerly named NSW Blues) are an Australian men's professional first class cricket team based in Sydney, New South Wales.
