William Mashinge
William Takudzwa Mashinge (born 6 October 1996) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who has represented the Mountaineers in Zimbabwean domestic cricket. He is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm fast-medium and bats right-handed. Mashinge was born in Marondera, in Zimbabwe's Mashonaland East Province. He made his first-class debut in January 2016, aged 19, playing for the Mountaineers against the Mid West Rhinos in the Logan Cup. Later in the year, Mashinge was selected in the Zimbabwe under-19s squad for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. He played in all six of his team's matches, scoring 127 runs (the third-most for Zimbabwe) but taking just two wickets. In the ninth-place play-off against Afghanistan, he top-scored for Zimbabwe with 66 runs from 92 balls. Marondera
Marondera (known as Marandellas until 1982) is a city in Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe, located about 72 km east of Harare. History It was first known as Marandella's Kraal, corrupted from Marondera, chief of the ruling Rozvi Empire, VaRozvi people who lived in the area. British colonialists as they were colonizing Zimbabwe, first used it as a rest stop on the way to Harare. Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), previously known as the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) until 2004, is the governing body for the sport of cricket in Zimbabwe. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021. Southern Rocks
The Southern Rocks is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team, based in the Masvingo and Matabeleland South area. They play their home matches at Masvingo Sports Club in Masvingo. The team initially ceased to play after the 2013–14 season. In their 47 first-class matches they won 3, lost 27, and drew 17. However, in December 2020, Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed they would be one of the teams playing in the 2020–21 Logan Cup Southern Rocks won their first Logan Cup trophy in the same 2020–21 season . 2019–20 Singapore Tri-Nation Series
The 2019–20 Singapore Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that was held from 27 September to 3 October 2019 in Singapore. It was a tri-nation series featuring Singapore, Nepal and Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Singapore used the series as preparation for their first appearance in the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier in October 2019. It was the first T20I tri-series to be played in Singapore.
