William Irving (British Politician)
William Charles John Irving (1 April 1892 – 15 March 1967) was a British Labour Co-operative politician. After the 1945 general election, Robert Morrison, the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Tottenham North was elevated to the peerage as Baron Morrison. Irving was selected as the Labour candidate for the resulting by-election, which he won with a majority of 5,522 over the Conservative Party candidate, Petre Crowder. A member of Middlesex County Council from 1937-58, he was chairman of the council for 1948-49. When the Tottenham North constituency was abolished for the 1950 general election, Irving was returned for the new Wood Green Wood Green is a suburban district in the borough of Haringey in London, England. Its postal district is N22, with parts in N8 or N15. William Irving (steamship Captain)
William Irving was a steamship captain and entrepreneur in Oregon, US and British Columbia, Canada. The Irvington neighborhood in Portland, Oregon is named in his honor and in New Westminster, British Columbia his home, "Irving House", is now a heritage site. He was one of the earliest pioneers of steamer travel in the Pacific Northwest and is remembered as one of the most successful and popular captains of the era. Early years William Irving was born in 1816 in Annan, Dumfriesshire Scotland. In 1831, he journeyed to Boston, Massachusetts and by the age of twenty-five he was a licensed steamship captain.Irvington Community Association

William Irving (August 15, 1766 – November 9, 1821) was a United States representative from New York, and the eldest brother of author Washington Irving. Early life Irving was born in New York City on August 15, 1766. William was the eldest surviving son of eleven children born to William Irving Sr. (1731–1807), originally of Quholm, Shapinsay, Orkney, Scotland, and Sarah (née Sanders) Irving (1738–1817). Among his surviving siblings were four brothers and three sisters, including: author and a member of the New York State Assembly Peter Irving, Ebenezer Irving, John Treat Irving, diplomat and author Washington Irving, Ann Irving (wife of Maj. William Irving (actor)
William Irving (17 May 1893 – 25 December 1943) was a German-born American film actor. Biography The burly character actor appeared in more than 220 films between 1916 and 1941, often as a "comic heavy" in the comedies of Our Gang or The Three Stooges. Irving also appeared as a cowardly German army cook in ''All Quiet on the Western Front'' (1930). He played mostly supporting roles in the silent era, but after the introduction of sound films his appearances got noticeably smaller and he was often uncredited. On Christmas Day, 1943, Irving was crossing the street at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, California, when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. William Irving (architect)
William Irving (1830 – June 11, 1883) was an architect in Toronto, Canada. His work included the original 1879 Dominion Bank headquarters building at One King West and British America Assurance Co. building (1877). Irving was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He apprenticed to Joseph Sheard and married his daughter. Joseph Sheard, a prominent builder and architect in the city at that time. Their work included Cawthra House (1852) and the Ontario Bank in Toronto (1861). He opened his own office in 1862. Edward J. Lennox worked in his office.
