William Hanson (cricketer)
William Thomas Daniel Hanson (born 21 April 1982) is an English cricketer. Hanson is a right-handed batsman who fields as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Leicester, Leicestershire. While studying for his degree at Durham University, Hanson made his first-class debut for Durham UCCE against Nottinghamshire in 2003. He made two further first-class appearance in 2003, against Durham and Lancashire. In his three first-class matches, he scored 13 runs at an average of 6.50, with a high score of 9 not out. Behind the stumps he took 5 catches and made a single stumping. In 2006, he made his debut for Devon in the 2006 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Wales Minor Counties. Bill Hanson (basketball)
William Hanson (born c. 1940) is a retired professional basketball player. He played one season in Spain with Real Madrid Baloncesto when they won the 1963–64 FIBA European Champions Cup. Hanson played college basketball with the Washington Huskies from 1960–1962, when the center was a three-time all-conference selection in the Athletic Association of Western Universities (AAWU). Hanson started playing high school basketball in Washington at Blaine High School before moving to Mercer Island High School for his senior year. He was nationally recruited by universities to play basketball, a rarity at the time for a player in the Northwest. He decided to attend University of Washington, whose basketball coach, Tippy Dye, had helped make center Bob Houbregs an All-American. In 1962, Hanson became the first Husky to lead the conference in rebounding. William Hanson (engineer)
William Hanson MICE (1810 – 14 July 1875) was a government engineer in the early days of the colony of South Australia. Early days Hanson was born in London, a son of Benjamin Hanson, fruit merchant and importer. William was trained as an architect, and spent some time in a builder's office, then in 1836 began working for George Stephenson. He subsequently became manager of two English railways. Career in South Australia He arrived in South Australia in late 1853. In February 1855 he was appointed engineer to the Adelaide and Gawler Railway Commissions, overseeing the construction of the line to Gawler and its extension to Kapunda (completed 1860), also to the Adelaide and Port Adelaide Railway.
