William Doyle is an Irish businessman and current chief executive of Newbridge Silverware, a cutlery and giftware manufacturer based in Newbridge, County Kildare. Early life and education Doyle grew up in County Kildare and was educated at Newbridge College. He studied Business Studies and Economics at Trinity College Dublin. Career William Doyle took over as CEO of Newbridge Silverware from his father, Dominic Doyle, in 1993 when he died. The company had a turnover of €27 million in 2007. Newbridge Silverware is a designer and producer of jewellery, homeware and giftware products. History Newbridge Silverware was founded in 1934 as a homeware manufacturer. It is based in Newbridge, County Kildare. In 1993, William Doyle took over as chief executive after his father, Dominic, died. Under Doyle the company expanded its product lines to include jewellery. In 2007, the Museum of Style Icons was established at the Newbridge store and contains pieces of fashion history, including the hot pink cocktail dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in ''Breakfast at Tiffany's''. Newbridge, officially known by its Irish name Droichead Nua (), is a town in County Kildare, Ireland. While the nearby Great Connell Priory was founded in the 13th century, the town itself formed from the 18th century onwards, and grew rapidly alongside a military barracks which opened in the early 19th century. Taking on the name Newbridge (''An Droichead Nua'') in the 20th century, the town expanded to support the local catchment, and also as a commuter town for Dublin.
