Will Matthews (rugby League)
Will Matthews (born 30 March 1988) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. He played for the Gold Coast Titans and the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League. Matthews was briefly contracted to the Widnes Vikings in the Super League. Background Matthews was born in Kyogle, New South Wales, Australia. He played his junior football for Kyogle Turkeys while attending Palm Beach Currumbin State High School, before being signed by the Gold Coast Titans. Playing career He played for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the Queensland Cup in 2007 and the Titans' Toyota Cup team in 2008. In round 16 of the 2008 NRL season he made his NRL debut for the Titans against the St. George Illawarra Dragons. In June 2008, Matthews re-signed with the Titans for three years. Kyogle
Kyogle () is a town in the Northern Rivers region of northern New South Wales, Australia. It falls within the local government area of Kyogle Council. At the 2016 census, Kyogle had a population of 2,751 people. Kyogle is known as a "gateway" to many national parks including Border Ranges National Park and Toonumbar National Park. History It was founded in the 1830s as a lumber camp, and is located north of Sydney, north of Casino on the Summerland Way close to the Queensland border. It also lies on the banks of the Richmond River. It is the seat of its own shire. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). As of 2019, Parramatta's home ground stadium has been rebuilt and they now play as the co-tenants at Western Sydney Stadium, which sits on the same site that was once Parramatta Stadium. It took thirty years for the club to make the grand final, which they did in 1976 and 1977, losing on both occasions. However, this period foreshadowed their most successful period in the early 1980s, when they won four premierships and qualified for five grand finals in six seasons. Australia National Schoolboys Rugby League Team
The Australian Schoolboys rugby league team is the national rugby league football team for secondary school students in Australia. The team competes against counterparts in New Zealand, known as the Junior Kiwis, England, Wales and France amongst others. Started in 1972, the Australian Schoolboys have produced over 50 Australian representatives, amongst a host of players who have represented other nations at the highest level.
