Omaha Race Riot Of 1919
The Omaha Race Riot occurred in Omaha, Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska, September 28–29, 1919. The race riot resulted in the lynching of Will Brown, a black civilian; the death of two white rioters; the injuries of many Omaha Police Department officers and civilians, including the attempted hanging of List of mayors of Omaha, Mayor Edward Parsons Smith; and a public rampage by thousands of white rioters who set fire to the Douglas County Courthouse (Omaha), Douglas County Courthouse in downtown Omaha. It followed more than 20 race riots that occurred in major industrial cities of the United States during the Red Summer of 1919. Background Three weeks before the riot, federal investigators had noted that "a clash was imminent owing to ill-feeling between white and black workers in the Omaha Stockyards, stockyards."

Will Brown (basketball)
William J. Brown (born October 8, 1971) is an American basketball coach. He is the former head men's basketball coach at Albany, where he served from 2002 to 2021, guiding the Great Danes to five NCAA tournament appearances. Playing career Born in Miller Place, New York, Brown played collegiate basketball at Dowling College, starting for three years. He finished his career as the school's all-time leader in assists, three-point field goals and free-throw percentage, and is the only player in Dowling history to score 1,000 points and tally 500 assists. Coaching career Brown began his coaching career at The College of Saint Rose, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons. He then became the head coach at Sullivan County Community College, compiling a record of 90–10 in three seasons. William Brown (born 5 June 1998) is an Australian racing driver currently competing in the Repco Supercars Championship with Erebus Motorsport, driving the No. 9 Holden ZB Commodore. In 2017, Brown received the Mike Kable Young Gun Award, and was also awarded The Peter Brock Medal by the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) for his outstanding year in racing. With championship wins in both the Australian Formula 4 and the Australian Toyota Racing Series in 2016, Brown became one of only five drivers in Australian motorsport history to achieve two national racing titles in one year. Early career Karting Brown started his career in karting in 2011 at the age of thirteen. He won numerous championships in his junior years and had an 80% win rate.
