''Vizefeldwebel'' Ernst Wiehle (born 24 November 1894, date of death unknown) was a World War I flying ace credited with six aerial victories. Biography Ernst Wiehle was born in Harzgerode, the German Empire, on 24 November 1894. He entered the German military on 15 October 1913, joining a Saxon Pioneer Battalion. When World War I began, he went into the early battles with this unit. On 16 March 1915, he was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class for his valor. On 12 July 1915, he was wounded in action.Shores et al 1990, p. 230. Wiehle switched to aviation duty on 2 December 1915. On 10 December, he was promoted to Unteroffizier. He underwent aviation training at ''Fliegerersatz-Abteilung'' (Replacement Detachment) 5 in Hannover and ''Fliegerersatz-Abteilung'' (Replacement Detachment) 9 in Darmstadt. Hermann Wiehle, full name Friedrich Martin Hermann Wiehle (18 November 1884 in Ballenstedt – 7 July 1966 in Dessau) was a German teacher and arachnologist . Biography After leaving school, Wiehle received his education from at the ''Anhaltisches Lehrerseminar'' in Köthen already the age of 15. After this he initially worked at a village school. Later he passed the middleschool teacher exam and then he worked as a teacher, mainly in the fields of biology and mathematics. From 1924 Wiehle was principal of the elementary school Flössergasse IV in Dessau. 1924, Wiehle got his Abitur at Domgymnasium Magdeburg. After then he extramurally studied at the Faculty of Biology of the Martin Luther University of Halle. Already during the teacher training Wiehle developed a special interest in arachnids. Martin Wiehle (23 October 1926 – 10 May 2023) was a German historian. Life and career During the Second World War, Wiehle was a German soldier in the Flak and the Kriegsmarine from 1943 to 1945. In the post-war period, he worked as a farm labourer in the until 1946, before he was then employed as a miner in Rositz in Thuringia until 1948. This was then followed by specialist training at the librarian school in Jena from 1948 to 1951. He worked from 1951 to 1954 as a librarian at the Landesstelle für Bibliothekswesen, first in Jena, later in Weimar. In 1954, he became director of the public library and "district library Wilhelm Weitling" in Magdeburg. He held this position for more than three decades until 1991. From 1957 to 1963, Wiehle completed a distance learning course in history at Berlin's Humboldt University, from which he came out as a graduate historian.
