West Frisian (language)
West Frisian, or simply Frisian ( fy, link=no, Frysk or ; nl, Fries , also ), is a West Germanic language spoken mostly in the province of Friesland () in the north of the Netherlands, mostly by those of Frisian ancestry. It is the most widely spoken of the Frisian languages. In the study of the evolution of English, West Frisian is notable as being the most closely related foreign tongue to the various dialects of Old English spoken across the Heptarchy, these being part of the Anglo-Frisian branch of the West Germanic family. Name The name "West Frisian" is only used outside the Netherlands, to distinguish this language from the closely related Frisian languages of Saterland Frisian and North Frisian spoken in Germany. Within the Netherlands, however, "West Frisian" refers to the West Frisian dialect of the Dutch language while the West Frisian language is almost always just called "Frisian" (in Dutch: for the Frisian language and for the Dutch dialect). ...

Wiebe Bijker
Wiebe E. Bijker (born 19 March 1951, Delft) is a Dutch professor Emeritus, former chair of the Department of Social Science and Technology at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Early life Bijker's father was an engineer involved in implementing the Delta Plan after a disastrous dike breach in the Netherlands in 1953 when young Bijker was two years old and later became deputy director of the Delft Hydraulics Laboratory. Presumably, the unique fact of parts of the Netherlands being below sea level, the well-known concerns in innovation surrounding this condition for centuries, and his father's involvement all contributed to the younger Bijker's interest in technology studies. Wiebe Draijer (born 27 August 1965) is a Dutch engineer, civil servant and management consultant who served as Chairman of the Social and Economic Council from 2012 to 2014. Since 1 October 2014, he has been CEO of the Rabobank. Youth and education Born and growing up in Enschede, Draijer wanted to be a reporter, but an uncle advised him to complete a professional study before trying his hand at journalism. Following this advice Draijer studied mechanical engineering at the Delft University of Technology from 1983 to 1989. During his time as a student he also worked as a freelance reporter for ''NRC Handelsblad''. From 1987 to 1989 he completed a traineeship and a year as a researcher at Philips Research Laboratories. Wiebe Nijenhuis
Wiebe Nijenhuis (Sneek, 30 January 1955 – IJlst, 1 April 2016) was a Dutch sportsperson. He was the Frisian strongest man between 1982 and 1984. After his career he was still active in the sport, including being a referee at the Frisian weightlifting championships a week before his death. He unexpectedly died at 61 on 1 April 2016. Wiebe van der Vliet-van Trotsenburg is a Netherlands-born film editor, sound editor, and post-production consultant. Career After studying film editing at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy, van der Vliet became assistant editor for the Academy Award-winning 1995 film ''Antonia'' by Dutch director, writer, and feminist Marleen Gorris. After taking part of the ''Antonia'' team, van der Vliet started a film editing career. In 1999, van der Vliet edited the original museum films for the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam.
