Widower With Five Daughters
''Widower with Five Daughters'' (german: Witwer mit 5 Töchtern) is a 1957 West German comedy film directed by Erich Engels and starring Heinz Erhardt, Susanne Cramer, and Helmuth Lohner. It was shot at Göttingen Studios, with location shooting at Berlepsch Castle near Witzenhausen. The art directors Dieter Bartels and Paul Markwitz designed the film's sets. Plot A father has brought up his five daughters alone since the death of his wife, while also administering a castle which is now owned by an American. He sometimes receives the help of a local woman, leading to the mixed reactions of his daughters as they consider her as a prospective new mother. Vera Tschechowa
Vera Wilhelmowna Rust (born 22 July 1940), known as Vera Tschechowa, is a German producer, director, screenwriter, and retired actress, of Russian descent. She appeared in more than 50 films between 1957 and 1996. She was widely known as Elvis Presley's companion, particularly in connection with his Oral Poliomyelitis Vaccine (OPV) public booster-advocacy and which they both undertook during Presley's first year in Germany with the U.S. Army (1959). Her mother, Ada Tschechowa, was the daughter of Michael Chekhov and Olga Chekhova. Vera herself appeared, on 6 June 1971, as one of 28 women under the banner "We've had abortions!" ("Wir haben abgetrieben!") on the cover page of the West German magazine, ''Stern''. In that issue, 374 women publicly stated that they had had pregnancies terminated, which at that time was illegal. Iván Petrovich ( sr, Иван Петровић, Ivan Petrović; 1 January 1894 – 18 October 1962) was a Serbian film actor and singer. He was the first actor from Yugoslavia to have a successful international movie career. Petrovich mainly worked in German cinema, but also collaborated with established directors in some 100 Hungarian, French, Spanish, Czechoslovakian and Hollywood movies.
