Whites (TV Series)
''Whites'' is a BBC sitcom, written by Oliver Lansley and Matt King (comedian), Matt King, directed by David Kerr (director), David Kerr, and starring Alan Davies as the executive chef at a country house hotel. BBC Two gave the go ahead for the show to go into production in August 2009 with the first episode airing in September 2010. ''Whites'' aired for six episodes in 2010. On 1 March 2011 Davies announced that the BBC would not be renewing ''Whites'' for another series. Plot After the beginnings of a seemingly promising career, Roland White (Alan Davies) is executive chef at the White House hotel and well past his prime. ''White'' is a series of documentaries shown in March 2008 on BBC 2 dealing with issues of Race (classification of human beings), race and the changing nature of the White people, white working class in Britain. The series alleged that some white working class Britons felt marginalised and poses the question, "Is white working class Britain becoming invisible?" Episodes Last Orders This documentary by Henry Singer looks at a working men's club, Wibsey Working Men's Club, in Bradford and the way in which it feels threatened by immigration which has increased the local Asian people, Asian populations as well as allegations that they are prioritised for services. It also examines the effect that the government ban on smoking in public places and the availability of cheap alcohol in urban pubs have had on the viability of the club. Kevin Brian Bishop (born 18 June 1980) is a British actor, comedian, and writer. The Michelin Guides ( ) are a series of guide books that have been published by the French tyre company Michelin since 1900. Amit Shah (actor)
Amit Kaushik Shah (born 1981) is a British actor. Early life Amit Shah was born in Enfield, England. Shah's parents were originally from Kenya, and his grandparents from Gujarat, India. His father is an accountant, and his mother is a health-food shop manager. Shah was cast as the lead in a school play at the age of 16. He read drama at Staffordshire University and then went on to train at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in West London. A sous-chef is a chef who is second in command in a kitchen; the person ranking next after the head chef, usually the more hands on manager with regards to training staff and organising the kitchen. Duties and functions The sous-chef has many responsibilities, because the executive chef has a more overarching role. Sous-chefs must plan and direct how the food is presented on the plate, keep their kitchen staff in order, train new chefs, create the work schedule, and make sure all the food that goes to customers is of the best quality to maintain high standards. ''Jamie's Kitchen'' is a five-part British documentary television series that aired on Channel 4 from 5 November to 10 December 2002. It follows chef Jamie Oliver as he attempts to train a group of 15 disadvantaged youth, who will—if they complete the course—be offered jobs at Oliver's new restaurant Fifteen. Jamie Oliver
James Trevor Oliver MBE OSI (born 27 May 1975) is an English chef, restaurateur and cookbook author. He is known for his casual approach to cuisine, which has led him to front numerous television shows and open many restaurants. Oliver reached the public eye when his series ''The Naked Chef'' premiered in 1999.
