"White Out" is the second episode of the fourth season of the American fantasy drama series ''Once Upon a Time'', which aired on October 5, 2014. In this episode David Nolan, Captain Hook, and Elsa try to save Emma Swan's life, while flashbacks show David's past with Anna. ''Once Upon a Time'' is an American fantasy adventure drama television series that aired for seven seasons on ABC from October 23, 2011, to May 18, 2018. The action alternates between two main settings: a fantastical world where fairy tales happen; and a fictional seaside town in Maine called Storybrooke. Emma Swan is a fictional character in ABC's television series ''Once Upon a Time'' and the protagonist of seasons 1-6. She is portrayed by Jennifer Morrison as an adult, by Abby Ross as a teenager, and by Mckenna Grace as a child. The Evil Queen, also called the Wicked Queen, is a fictional character and the main antagonist of "Snow White", a German fairy tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm; similar stories exist worldwide. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is a 19th-century German fairy tale that is today known widely across the Western world. Captain James Hook is a fictional character and the main antagonist of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play ''Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up'' and its various adaptations, in which he is Peter Pan's archenemy. The character is a pirate captain of the brig ''Jolly Roger.''
