White Buffalo
A white buffalo or white bison is an American bison possessing white fur, and is considered sacred or spiritually significant in several Native American religions; therefore, such buffalo are often visited for prayer and other religious rituals. The coats of buffalo are almost always brown and their skin a dark brown or black; however, white buffalo can result from one of several physical conditions: * They may be albinos, in which case they will remain unpigmented throughout their lives, and may also have hearing and vision problems. * They may be leucistic, with white fur but blue eyes, instead of the pink seen in albinos. * They may have a rare genetic condition which causes a buffalo to be born white, but to become brown within a year or two as it matures. * They may be beefalo, a bison–cattle crossbreed, and thus have inherited the white coloration from their cattle ancestry. ''Pile of Skulls'' is the seventh studio album by Running Wild, released in 1992. It is their last album with guitarist Axel Morgan. The song "Jennings' Revenge" tells about the exploits of pirate Henry Jennings. The lyrics of "Treasure Island" are based on the book of the same title by 19th century author Robert Louis Stevenson. Critical reception ''Pile of Skulls'' was met with mostly positive reviews from critics. Steve Huey of All Music Guide called it one of Running Wild's strongest efforts. While calling it too ambitious, he thought ''Pile of Skulls'' combined the group's trademark pirate subject matter with a unifying concept about corruption and abuse of power throughout history. In a 2013 interview, Rolf Kasparek spoke about the song "Bloody Island" from the 2013 album ''Resilient'' and explained that the demo version of the song would've been a great fit on the album. The ''White Buffalo Gazette'' (''WBG'') is a newsletter/zine that covered the "Obscuro Comix & Art." The ''WBG'' took the place of Steve Willis' ''City Limits Gazette'' (1991–1993) when that publication was retired. ''WBG'' was originally inspired by Bruce Chrislip's zine of the same name, as well as Clay Geerdes' ''Comix World'' newsletter. Unlike ''City Limits Gazette'' or ''Comix World'', which were primarily networking and review publications, ''WBG'' was chiefly illustrative in nature. ''The White Buffalo'' is a 1977 fantasy Western film directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Charles Bronson, Kim Novak, Jack Warden, Slim Pickens and Will Sampson. Plot Wild Bill Hickok is haunted by his dreams of a giant white buffalo, so much that he travels the West to find the beast. Along the way, Hickok meets the great Lakota warrior Crazy Horse, who is also searching the plains for the giant white buffalo, which has killed Crazy Horse's daughter. ''The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin'' is an American children's television series in the Western genre that aired from October 1954 to May 1959 on the ABC television network. In all, 164 episodes aired. The show starred Lee Aaker as Rusty, a boy orphaned in an Indian raid, who was being raised by the soldiers at a US Cavalry post known as Fort Apache. Rusty and his German shepherd dog, Rin Tin Tin, help the soldiers to establish order in the American West. James E. Brown appeared as Lieutenant Ripley "Rip" Masters. ''Tooth, Fang & Claw'' is the sixth studio album by the Amboy Dukes, credited as "Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes". The band's second release on DiscReet Records, it was the final album released under the Amboy Dukes name before Ted Nugent launched his solo career the following year.
