Where Is Freedom
''Where Is Freedom?'' ( it, Dov'è la libertà?) is a 1954 Italian comedy-drama film directed by Roberto Rossellini. The film had a troubled production because, after shooting some scenes, Rossellini lost interest in the film and abandoned the set. The work was completed after about a year, mainly from Mario Monicelli, with some scenes also shot by Lucio Fulci and Federico Fellini. Roberto Rossellini
Roberto Gastone Zeffiro Rossellini (8 May 1906 – 3 June 1977) was an Italian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was one of the most prominent directors of the Italian neorealist cinema, contributing to the movement with films such as ''Rome, Open City'' (1945), ''Paisan'' (1946), and ''Germany, Year Zero'' (1948). Early life Rossellini was born in Rome. His mother, Elettra (née Bellan), was a housewife born in Rovigo, Veneto, and his father, Angiolo Giuseppe "Peppino" Rossellini, who owned a construction firm, was born in Rome from a family originally from Pisa, Tuscany. Pietro Carloni (28 October 1896 – 3 August 1968) was an Italian stage and film actor. Life and career Born in Taurisano, Lecce into a family of actors, Carloni debuted on stage at young age in the theatrical company held by Ernesto Murolo. Giacomo Rondinella (30 August 1923 – 25 February 2015) was an Italian singer and actor. Life and career Born in Messina, the son of a couple of Neapolitan actors and singers, Rondinella started his career as a singer after World War II, following failed attempts to pursue a military career and a career as a boxer. He first emerged as the winner of a contest for "New Voices" organized by Radio Napoli, and in a short time he became one of the stars of Canzone Napoletana.
