"Where I Come From" is a song written by Rodney Clawson and Dallas Davidson and recorded by American country music duo Montgomery Gentry. It was released in July 2011 as the first single from the duo's 2011 album ''Rebels on the Run''. Content The song is a mid-tempo rock-influenced song in which the narrators express pride with their Southern heritage. Co-writer Dallas Davidson said that he did not like many of Montgomery Gentry's previous singles, and that "I feel like this song fits them, and I say that as a fan. I think that they can actually stand onstage and sing this song every night, and people are going to believe them because it’s where they come from, too." The song is set in the key of B-flat minor with a main chord pattern of Bm-G-D-A. Montgomery Gentry
Montgomery Gentry is an American country music duo founded by singers Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, both Kentucky natives. They began performing together in the 1990s as part of two different bands with Montgomery's brother, John Michael Montgomery. Although Gentry won a talent contest in 1994, he reunited with Eddie Montgomery after Gentry was unable to find a solo record deal, and Montgomery Gentry was formed in 1999. The duo is known for its Southern rock influences, and has collaborated with Charlie Daniels, Toby Keith, Five for Fighting, and members of The Allman Brothers Band. "One in Every Crowd" is a song recorded by American country music duo Montgomery Gentry. It was released in February 2009 as the third single from their album ''Back When I Knew It All''. Eddie Montgomery, one-half of the duo, co-wrote the song with Kim Tribble and former Trick Pony bassist Ira Dean. Content "One in Every Crowd" is an up-tempo with electric guitar accompaniment, written by Eddie Montgomery (one-half of Montgomery Gentry), along with Kim Tribble and Ira Dean, the latter of whom was formerly bass guitarist in the group Trick Pony.
