Irene Monaco (born 7 October 1940) is a former Italian a paralympic multi-sport athlete who won ten medals at the Summer Paralympics from 1964 to 1984. Married to paralympic athlete Uber Sala who competed at the 1968 Summer Paralympics in Dartchery. She has a twin sister Elena, who also has polio. who won six medals at the Summer Paralympics between Tokyo 1964 and Tel Aviv 1968. Valerie Robertson (née Forder; born 1943) is a British former Paralympic athlete who competed in archery, athletics, swimming, and wheelchair fencing, winning at least a silver medal in each. She won a total of six Paralympic gold medals at three Games. After completing her Paralympic career, Robertson had a very successful transition to wheelchair lawn bowling. Sporting career Robertson, competing under her maiden name of Forder, participated in the 1964 Summer Paralympics and again in 1968. She entered four different sporting disciplines, winning at least a silver in each one. At the 1964 Games, Robertson won a medal in all but one of the events in which she competed. She won gold in the 50m freestyle, along with two other swimming medals. She also received silver in the archery and wheelchair fencing, along with a bronze in the discus, only missing out on a medal in the club throw. Ayala Malchan
Ayala Malchan-Katz (born 1949) is an Israeli Paralympic athlete. Between the years 1968-1988 she participated in six Paralympic competitions and won 13 medals, of which 5 were gold. Life Katz fell ill at the age of three months with polio which affected her lower limbs. For nine years she was treated in a hospital in Jerusalem and at the age of nine she returned to her parents' home in Rosh HaAyin . As part of her medical rehabilitation, she began competing in disabled sports and participated in swimming, fencing and wheelchair basketball competitions. Katz lives in Petah Tikva and is the head of the municipal framework of the national program "Accessible Community" which works to implement a law of equal rights for people with disabilities.
