''Whatever'' is the third studio album by American drag performer and recording artist Adore Delano, released on August 18, 2017. Background and recording ''Whatever'' is Adore Delano's third studio album, following ''Till Death Do Us Party'' (2014) and '' After Party''. ''Whatever'' marked a genre shift from pop to rock. She has said of her decision to pivot: On recording the album, she has recalled: Composition The alternative rock, grunge, and punk rock album is approximately 42 minutes, 48 second in length. ''Billboard'' Brandon Voss described the album as "guitar-fueled". Musically, Adore Delano was inspired by the music of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, including Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, and Babes in Toyland. Whatever (Oasis Song)
"Whatever" is a song by the English rock band Oasis. Written by the band's lead guitarist, Noel Gallagher, it was released on 18 December 1994 as the band's first non-album single. A subsequent lawsuit awarded a co-writing credit to Neil Innes. History At six minutes and twenty-one seconds, "Whatever" was the longest single the band had released up to that point (it was later surpassed by "Champagne Supernova"). The song follows an AB structure, which differs from Verse-Chorus, as the main hook occurs at the beginning of the song. The song suddenly changes key during the bridge, before returning to the main chord progression of the song, which repeats for a two-and-a-half-minute outro in which, one by one, each instrument cuts out until only the strings are playing. Finally, the song ends with an extended, recorded applause track. The Christmas single was released in 1994 as a stand-alone single, bridging the gap between Oasis' debut album, ''Definitely Maybe'', and their secon ...

Whatever (novel)
''Whatever'' (french: Extension du domaine de la lutte, literally "extension of the domain of struggle") is the debut novel of French writer Michel Houellebecq, which was published in 1994 in France by Éditions Maurice Nadeau and in 1998 in the UK by Serpent's Tail. It primarily highlights the "disaggregating effects of post-Fordism on the intimate spaces of human affect" through the story of a depressed and isolated man stuck in a tedious but well-paying programming job. It was adapted into the 1999 film '' Whatever'', directed by and starring Philippe Harel. Plot The protagonist, known only as "Our Hero" during the entirety of the story, lives a solitary life, and has not had sex for over two years. Within most of the book and film versions of ''Whatever'', Our Hero draws on recollections of Schopenhauer and Kant to lambast the commodification of human contact, punctuating his inner monologue with bouts of nausea and masturbation. He is wracked by the implications of decisions th ...

Whatever (slang)
''Whatever'' is a slang term meaning "whatever you say" , "I don't care what you say" or "what will be will be". The term is used either to dismiss a previous statement and express indifference or in affirmation of a previous statement as "whatever will be will be". An interjection of "whatever" can be considered offensive and impolite or it can be considered affirming. In the late 20th century and early 21st century, the word became a sentence in its own right; in effect an interjection, often but not always, used as a passive-aggressive conversational blocking tool, leaving the responder without a convincing retort. History Early examples of current usage include a 1965 episode of ''Bewitched'' in which the character Endora exclaims "All right, whatever" to her daughter, lead character Samantha Stephens, and also the much maligned 1965 sitcom ''My Mother the Car'', in which "whatever" was the standard retort used by Captain Manzini (Avery Schreiber) whenever he would mispron ...

''Take Her Up to Monto'' is the fourth solo studio album by Irish singer Róisín Murphy. It was released on 8 July 2016 by Play It Again Sam. The album was co-produced with longtime collaborator Eddie Stevens during the same five-week session period that resulted in Murphy's previous album, '' Hairless Toys'' (2015). Background ''Take Her Up to Monto'' was recorded during the same sessions as Murphy's 2015 album '' Hairless Toys'', and included producer and longtime collaborator Eddie Stevens. The title is derived from an Irish folk song of the same name, popularised by The Dubliners in the 1960s, which Murphy's father sang to her as a child. Monto is the nickname of Dublin's old red-light district. The album's release was preceded by two tracks, "Mastermind" and "Ten Miles High", as well as Murphy's self-directed video for the latter, which was filmed in London. Comparing the album with its predecessor, Murphy stated that "the visual language has changed. Less reference, a ...

Gravity (Our Lady Peace Album)
''Gravity'' is the fifth studio album by the Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace. It was released on June 18, 2002 by Columbia Records in North America. The album became a worldwide success, charting highly both in Canada and the United States with the hit singles " Somewhere Out There" and "Innocent". The album title, ''Gravity'', was inspired by the chorus lyrics "Falling back to me, defying gravity" from the track "Somewhere Out There". At the time of the album's release, OLP drummer Jeremy Taggart said that ''Gravity'' was "by far heirbest album". ''Gravity'' was the first album to feature new guitarist, Steve Mazur, who replaced Mike Turner in 2002 after the latter's departure, due to the band feeling limited by Mike Turner's guitar abilities in the studio. I Megaphone
''I Megaphone'' is the debut studio album by British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap. It was released on 16 June 1998 by Almo Sounds. It is an alternative rock record with largely confessional lyricism, addressing themes ranging from adolescent drug use and revenge to perseverance and religion. The album's title is an anagram of "Imogen Heap". The album spawned several singles, including "Getting Scared", which was featured on the soundtrack of the horror film ''I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'', "Shine", "Come Here Boy", and "Oh Me, Oh My". Zen Arcade
''Zen Arcade'' is the second studio album by American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in July 1984 on SST Records. Originally released as a double album on two vinyl LPs, ''Zen Arcade'' tells the story of a young boy who runs away from an unfulfilling home life, only to find the world outside is even worse. ''Zen Arcade'' and subsequent Hüsker Dü albums were instrumental in the creation of the alternative rock genre, and it is considered by some to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Background Hüsker Dü had gained notice in the American indie music scene of the early 1980s as a fast, aggressive hardcore punk band. They were the first non-West Coast group signed to the California independent record label SST Records, which at the time specialized in releases by hardcore bands, most notably Black Flag. However, the trio's music was becoming more melodic and nuanced with each album; songs such as "Diane" (from the EP ''Metal Circus''), a true story about the rap ...

As of October 2010 the album has sold 250,000 copies in United States according to Nielsen SoundScan. Due to the band's inactivity, ''The Odd Couple'' would become the group's last album to date as of over a decade later. Background In late January, an assumed leaked track appeared on several music blogs. "Run (I'm a Natural Disaster)", the previously unknown song, was given positive reviews from most music outlets. "Run" was released as the album's first single as a digital download in the US on February 5, 2008.
