What's Your Raashee
''What's Your Raashee?'' () is a 2009 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. It was produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Sunita A. Gowariker. The film stars Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra, with Darshan Jariwala and Dilip Joshi in supporting roles. The film is based on the Gujarati language, Gujarati novel ''Kimball Ravenswood'' by the playwright and novelist Madhu Rye, and follows the story of Yogesh Patel, a Gujarati Non-resident Indian and person of Indian origin, NRI, who must marry in ten days to save his brother from harm; Yogesh agrees to meet twelve potential brides (all played by Chopra), one from each Astrological sign, zodiac sign. Ashutosh Gowariker
Ashutosh Gowariker (born 15 February 1964) is an Indian film director, actor, screenwriter and producer who works in Bollywood, Hindi cinema. He is known for directing films "set on a huge canvas while boasting of an opulent treatment". His is particularly known for ''Lagaan'' (2001), ''Swades'' (2004), ''Jodhaa Akbar'' (2008), and ''Mohenjo Daro (film), Mohenjo Daro'' (2016). The 34th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada between September 10 and September 19, 2009. Javed Akhtar
Javed Akhtar (born 17 January 1945) is an Indian poet, lyricist, screenwriter and political activist. Known for his work in Hindi cinema, he has won five National Film Awards, and received the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007, two of India's highest civilian honours. Akhtar came to recognition in the duo Salim–Javed, and earned his breakthrough as a screenwriter with 1973's ''Zanjeer''. What's Your Raashee? (soundtrack)
''What's Your Raashee?'' is the soundtrack album to the 2009 romantic comedy film of the same name. The soundtrack is composed by Sohail Sen and the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. It was released by Sony Music on 9 September 2009 and upon release, the soundtrack received critical acclaim from music critics, who commended Sen's musicianship and vocal ability. Development There was a speculation that the soundtrack of ''What's Your Raashee?'' will be composed by the Academy Award winner, A. R. Rahman, but soon afterwards, director Ashutosh Gowariker announced that he would be hiring newcomer, Sohail Sen to compose the soundtrack of the movie. The track listing for the soundtrack took more than one and a half years to be finalised.
