What's Happening (album)
''What's Happening'' is the second album from the Australian hip hop artist, Katalyst (aka Sydney based producer Ashley Anderson). It is a follow-up to Katalyst's award-winning debut album, ''Manipulating Agent''. ''What's Happening'' was released by Invada Records on 25 August 2007. The album features guest vocalists from the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia - including Stephanie McKay, J-Live, Steve Spacek, Diverse Katie Noonan (george), Magic Dirt's Adalita and Beautiful Girls' Mat McHugh. The album was selected as Triple J's featured album of the week in August 2007 and was nominated for the 2007 J Award. At the J Awards of 2007, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year. It was nominated for Best Urban Release at the 2008 ARIA awards. The first single lifted from the album was "All You've Got" which enjoyed rotation nationally as well as receiving rave reviews from overseas. Katalyst (musician)
Katalyst (real name Ashley Anderson) is an Australian DJ and producer. He won awards at the 2002 Australian Dance Music Awards for Best Album and Best Producer. History 1998–2000: Moonrock Anderson initially recorded under the name Moonrock with fellow producer Michael Wright (aka Illpickl). Moonrock released a self-titled album in 1998, and went on to contribute tracks to the internationally renowned Cafe Del Mar compilation albums (Volume 6 (1999) and The Best Of (2003)). 2001–2011: Katalyst As Katalyst, he had his first solo release with a track on the ''Dope on Plastic'' compilation in 2001. That year also saw him form experimental record label, Invada Records, together with Portishead's Geoff Barrow. The J Award of 2007 is the third annual J Awards, established by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's youth-focused radio station Triple J. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. Yungun
Yungun (a.k.a. Essa) is a British hip hop artist. He released his debut album ''The Essance'' on Janomi Records in 2004. He was born in North London where he currently works and resides. Bio He was educated at Eton College. He began his musical career as a host and MC on pirate radio station Parlay in Harrow during the mid-1990s. There he formed the group Dupa Styles with fellow MCs M.E. Moon and Devise. In 1998 Yungun made contact with Harry Love who began to play the role of Dupa Styles's DJ and Producer. Triple J TV (stylised in all lowercase; formerly jtv) is the name given to a series of Australian television programmes which started broadcast in July 2006 as a television spin-off of national radio broadcaster Triple J. They are broadcast on ABC1 and ABC2 as well as available online. As with Triple J, it focuses on youth-oriented (18–35) programming. ARIA Award For Best Urban Album
The ARIA Music Award for Best Urban Album, was an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It was handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." Best Urban Album was first presented as Best Urban Release in 2004, for an album or single released by a solo artist or group until 2010, where it changed to Best Urban Album.
