Western Football Association
The Western Football Association (WFA) was a governing body for association football, soccer in Southern Ontario, Canada, and is often viewed as a precursor organization to the current Canadian Soccer Association. The organization was responsible for facilitating club play in Southern Ontario, and would also send teams to compete internationally, such as Galt F.C.'s participation at the Football at the 1904 Summer Olympics, 1904 Summer Olympics. Kitchener, Ontario
Kitchener is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario, about west of Toronto. It is one of three cities that make up the Regional Municipality of Waterloo and is the regional Administrative centre, seat. Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School, commonly called Kitchener Collegiate Institute or KCI, is a public education, public secondary school in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. David Forsyth (soccer)
David Forsyth (December 15, 1852 – September 14, 1936) was a Canadian educator and soccer player and administrator. A member of the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame, he is known as the "Father of Canadian Soccer". Early and personal life Forsyth was born in Perthshire, Scotland, in 1852. His family emigrated to British North America when he was one year old, settling in the village of Lynden, Canada West. Educated at local schools in Lynden, then Dundas High School and Galt Collegiate Institute, he went on to study mathematics at the University of Toronto, graduating with a silver medal in 1875. He was married to Augusta Mylius from 1882 until her death in 1912. Galt is a community in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Ontario on the Grand River (Ontario), Grand River. Prior to 1973, it was an independent city, incorporated in 1915, but amalgamation with the village of Hespeler, Ontario, Hespeler, the town of Preston, Ontario, Preston and the village of Blair formed the new municipality of Cambridge. Christian Brothers Cadets Men's Soccer
The Christian Brothers Cadets men's soccer team was a varsity college soccer team that represented the Christian Brothers College (now a high school) from the 1870s until the 1910s. The team is best known for being one of the most dominant pre-regulation college soccer programs in the United States, retroactively winning ASHA and IFRA pre-regulation national championships. In total, the Cadets won 16 consecutive national championships between 1890 and 1905. The 1905 title was shared with Haverford College by the Intercollegiate Soccer Football League, which was the governing body of college soccer in the United States from 1904 until 1958 (the NCAA began governing college soccer in 1959).
