West Virginia's 7th Senate District
West Virginia's 7th Senate district is one of 17 districts in the West Virginia Senate. It is currently represented by Republican Mike Stuart and Republican Rupie Phillips. All districts in the West Virginia Senate elect two members to staggered four-year terms. Geography District 7 is based in Southern West Virginia, covering all of Boone, Lincoln, and Logan Counties and parts of Mingo and Wayne Counties. Communities in the district include Wayne, Lavalette, Hamlin, Alum Creek, Madison, Logan, Chapmanville, Mallory, Mount Gay-Shamrock, and Gilbert Creek. Alum Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kanawha County, West Virginia, Kanawha and Lincoln County, West Virginia, Lincoln counties along the Coal River (West Virginia), Coal River in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It includes the unincorporated communities of Alum Creek, Forks of Coal, West Virginia, Forks of Coal, and Priestley, West Virginia, Priestley. Ralph Rodighiero (born May 26, 1963) is an American politician who served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from the 24th district from 2014 until 2020. He also previously served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from the 19th district from 2006 to 2012. Ronny Douglas Stollings (born April 24, 1955) is a Democratic member of the West Virginia Senate, who represented the 7th district from 2006 to 2022. West Virginia's 3rd Congressional District
West Virginia's 3rd congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in southern West Virginia. The district covers the state's second-largest city, Huntington; includes Bluefield, Princeton, and Beckley; and has a long history of coal mining (especially in the southwestern counties), forestry, and farming. The district is currently represented by Republican Carol Miller. However, because West Virginia lost a congressional seat in the 2020 census, it will be eliminated in 2023. The CDP contains the unincorporated communities, from west to east, of Huff Junction, Mallory, Davin, Mineral City, Claypool, Combs Addition, and Gillman Bottom.
