West Beach (Santa Barbara)
West beach is in Santa Barbara, California. It is home to Santa Barbara's New Years and 4th of July Fireworks shows. Activities It is an industrial beach and swimming is prohibited, however kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing are common activities. West Beach Music & Arts Festival West Beach is also the home to the West Beach Music & Arts Festival. The 2008 lineup featured Ziggy Marley, Jason Mraz, Natasha Bedingfield, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters. In 2009 the festival sold out. In 2010, local government bureaucracy denied the event permit, resulting in an appeal of the decision by the organizers. In February 2009, with local politics and the Nederlander controlled Santa Barbara Bowl fiercely competing against the event, the Parks & Recreation director, went as far as to say the decision to deny the permit was unappealable. A beach is a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, etc., or biological sources, such as mollusc shells or coralline algae. The ''Daily Nexus'' is a campus newspaper at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). ''Daily Nexus'' lineage can be traced to the Santa Barbara State College student newspaper, ''The Eagle'', of the 1930s. After the college became part of the UC system in 1944, ''The Eagle'' evolved under different names — ''The Roadrunner'', ''El Gaucho'', ''The University Post'' and ''The Daily Gaucho''. The modern ''Daily Nexus'' emerged from the activism and civil protests of the 1960s-1970s. Due process of law is application by state of all legal rules and principles pertaining to the case so all legal rights that are owed to the person are respected. The Santa Barbara Bowl is a 4,562-seat amphitheater, located in Santa Barbara, California. The Nederlander Organization, founded in 1912 by David T. Nederlander in Detroit, and currently based in New York City, is one of the largest operators of live theaters and music venues in the United States. Its first acquisition was a lease on the Detroit Opera House in 1912. The building was demolished in 1928. Big Head Todd and The Monsters are a rock band formed by Todd Mohr, Brian Nevin, and Rob Squires in 1986 in Colorado. The band has released a number of albums since 1989 with their 1993 album ''Sister Sweetly'' going platinum in the United States. The band has developed a sizable live following especially in the Mountain States of the United States.
