Wes Madiko
Wes Madiko (15 January 1964 – 25 June 2021), better known mononymously as Wes, was a Cameroonian musician. He is probably best known among Western audiences for his cover of "Upendi", from '' The Lion King II: Simba's Pride'', as well as work with Deep Forest and his own 1997 hit " Alane" produced by Michel Sanchez. In late 2010, he was working on a new project with electronic composer and producer Paul Kwitek. He died on June 25, 2021, in Paris, France, due to a nosocomial infection after a medical operation. Wesley Edward Sims (born 12 October 1979) is a retired American professional mixed martial artist. A professional from 2001 until 2013, he competed in the UFC, the WEC, Strikeforce, K-1 and the IFL. Background Sims was born in Cleveland and raised in Amanda, Ohio. He was a star center on the basketball team at Amanda-Clearcreek High School, and went on to Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. Montgomery was known for an unusual technique of plucking the strings with the side of his thumb and his extensive use of octaves, which gave him a distinctive sound.
