Well Oiled (Hash Jar Tempo Album)
''Well Oiled'' is the first recorded collaboration between Bardo Pond and Roy Montgomery, released under the name Hash Jar Tempo on March 17, 1997 by Drunken Fish Records. Reception Ned Raggett of AllMusic praised the album, writing that "it very much is what is promised, a collaboration between Roy Montgomery and Bardo Pond that lives up to the experimental and exploratory heights both are easily capable of. [...] Unlike the group's Ash Ra Tempel, semi-namesake, Hash Jar Tempo doesn't punish and haunt so much as it does engagingly trip out, with the right head-nodding pace and echoing chimes that will attract both older stoners and younger shoegaze freaks. Hash Jar Tempo is a collaborative musical project between the members of Philadelphia-based psychedelic rock, psychedelic band Bardo Pond and Experimental music, experimental guitarist and composer Roy Montgomery. The band was founded in March 1995 and have released two albums, ''Well Oiled (Hash Jar Tempo album), Well Oiled'' and ''Under Glass'', and have never toured. History In 1995, Montgomery was introduced to the members of Bardo Pond, who were already familiar with Roy Montgomery's Dadamah project. On March 26, members of Bardo Pond and Montgomery entered the studio and recorded a completely improvised session. The improvised pieces from that session would be released two years later as ''Well Oiled (Hash Jar Tempo album), Well Oiled'' under the name Hash Jar Tempo, which is a pun on the band Ash Ra Tempel.
