Weightlifting At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's 94 Kg
The men's 94 kg weightlifting event was the sixth men's event at the weightlifting competition, limiting competitors to a maximum of 94 kilograms of body mass. The whole competition took place on August 17, but was divided in two parts due to the number of competitors. Group B weightlifters competed at 10:00, and Group A, at 19:00. This event was the thirteenth weightlifting event to conclude. Each lifter performed in both the snatch and clean and jerk lifts, with the final score being the sum of the lifter's best result in each. The athlete received three attempts in each of the two lifts; the score for the lift was the heaviest weight successfully lifted. Khadzhimurat Magomedovich Akkaev (russian: Хаджимурат Магомедович Аккаев; born March 27, 1985 in Tyrnyauz, Kabardino-Balkaria, USSR) is a Russian weightlifter. Career Akkaev competed in the men's 94 kg category at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he won a silver medal. He is 178 cm/5 ft 10 tall and weighs 105 kg/231 lb. Ilya Aleksandrovich Ilyin (russian: Илья Александрович Ильин; born 24 May 1988) is a retired Kazakhstani weightlifter who won four world championships. On 12 December, 2015 at the President's Cup in Grozny, Russia, Ilyin set two world records in the −105 kg class. He lifted 246 kg in the clean and jerk and 437 kg in the total.
