Weightlifting At The 1980 Summer Olympics – Men's 75 Kg
These are the results of the Men's Middleweight Weightlifting Event (– 75 kg) at the weightlifting at the 1980 Summer Olympics, 1980 Olympic Weightlifting competition in Moscow. A total of 16 men competed in this event, limited to competitors with a maximum body weight of 75 kilograms. Each weightlifter had three attempts for both the snatch (weightlifting), snatch and clean and jerk lifting methods. The total of the best successful lift of each method was used to determine the final rankings and medal winners. Competition took place on 24 July in the Izmailovo Sports Palace. This is the list of Olympic records in Olympic weightlifting, weightlifting. Records are maintained in each weight class for the snatch (weightlifting), snatch lift, clean and jerk lift, and the total for both lifts. The weight classes for men on the Olympic program were adjusted for the 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 Games, so Olympic records only exist based on the results during and after that. Women's weightlifting made its Olympic debut at the 2000 Games in Sydney, with seven weight classes that have not changed since. Mohamed Tarabulsi
Mohamad Kheir Traboulsi (8 September 1950 – 22 August 2002) was an amateur Lebanese weightlifter (he was a firefighter). At the 1972 Summer Olympics, he won the silver medal in the men's Middleweight category. Life and career Traboulsi was born in Beirut on 26 September 1950. At 18 years of age, weighing 67.10 kg, he lifted a total of 377 kg and placed 14th among 20 participants in the 67.5 kg weightlifting category at the Mexico 1968 Olympic games. With 67 kg, he was too light for a height of 167 cm. Yet, in 1969, he set the junior world record of Middleweight with 140 kg, a very great lift, equal to the junior light heavyweight record. In Munich 1972, now weighing 74.05 kg, he lifted 160 + 140 + 172.5 = 472.5 and won the silver medal for the 75 kg weightlifting category.
