Weekend In America
''Weekend in America'' is the debut studio album released by American electro house artist Wolfgang Gartner, released on September 20, 2011 on Ultra Records. A departure from Gartner's previous releases of primarily DJ tracks, the album includes collaborations with several hip-hop artists, including Eve, Jim Jones, and Cam'ron. Although introducing this new facet of Gartner's music, ''Weekend in America'' features a mix of both pure DJ tracks and tracks with hip-hop influence. Singles from the album included "Illmerica", "Ménage à Trois", "Space Junk", "Forever" (featuring will.i.am), and "Still My Baby" (featuring Omarion). Critical reception Ben Norman of About.com commended Gartner, saying he "decided to stick to what he knew, and thank goodness he did", noting the track "Forever" as "a superb example of what a good producer can achieve" and that "Illmerica" "showcases exactly what is so magical about this producer." Wolfgang Gartner
Joseph Thomas Youngman (born March 17, 1982), better known by his stage name Wolfgang Gartner, is an American DJ and music producer. Much of his music prior to 2010 was released through his own record label, Kindergarten, but he signed with Ultra Records in 2010 and Ministry of Sound in the UK in 2011. Biography Background Youngman created the Wolfgang Gartner name in late 1999 after establishing a successful name as a deep house DJ. Not wanting to be criticized for such an abrupt departure in style, Youngman created the name anonymously. Gartner's identity was revealed officially in July 2008. Youngman took the name from the coach of the Cal Poly Mustangs men's soccer team. The current Wolfgang Gartner logo was created in 2010 by New York graffiti artist Eric Haze who created logos for the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and EPMD. Joseph Guillermo Jones II (born July 15, 1976), better known by his stage name Jim Jones (formerly Jimmy Jones), is an American rapper, music video director, and record executive. He is an original member of the hip hop collective the Diplomats (also known as Dipset), alongside longtime friend and fellow Harlem native, Cam'ron. In 2004, he released his debut solo album ''On My Way to Church''. The iTunes Store is a digital media store operated by Apple Inc. It opened on April 28, 2003, as a result of Steve Jobs' push to open a digital marketplace for music. Omari Ishmael Grandberry (born November 12, 1984), better known by his stage name Omarion, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actor and dancer. He rose to prominence as the lead singer of the boy band B2K.
