''We from the Urals'' (russian: Мы с Урала) is a 1943 Soviet drama film directed by Lev Kuleshov and Aleksandra Khokhlova. Plot Two teenagers working after school in a large military factory in the Urals rush to the front lines of war, where a nurse has left the sister of one of them. Their everyday life, love and youth make up the plot of the film. Lev Kuleshov
Lev Vladimirovich Kuleshov (russian: Лев Владимирович Кулешов; – 29 March 1970) was a Russian and Soviet filmmaker and film theorist, one of the founders of the world's first film school, the Moscow Film School. He was given the title People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1969. He was intimately involved in development of the style of film making known as Soviet montage, especially its psychological underpinning, including the use of editing and the cut to emotionally influence the audience, a principle known as the Kuleshov effect. He also developed the theory of creative geography, which is the use of the action around a cut to connect otherwise disparate settings into a cohesive narrative. Ivan Petrovich Ryzhov (russian: Ива́н Петро́вич Рыжо́в; 25 January 1913, Ramensky District, Zelyonaya Sloboda, Bronnitsky Uyezd, Moscow Governorate — 15 March 2004, Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian film and theater actor. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1980). Biography Ryzhov was born on 25 January 1913 in the village of Ramensky District, Zelyonaya Sloboda, in the Bronnitsky Uyezd of the Moscow Governorate of the Russian Empire. In 1935, he graduated from the School of the Moscow Theater of the Revolution and became an actor of the theater. He made his film debut in the role of Captain Soroka in the ''Kubans''. Ivan Ryzhov died on the morning of 15 March 2004 in a Moscow hospital. According to his daughter, it happened due to negligence of the medical staff: the actor had fallen and cut his hand. Sergey Nikolayevich Filippov (russian: Сергей Николаевич Филиппов, 24 June 1912— 19 April 1990) was a Soviet and Russian film and stage actor and comedian, best known for his parts in films ''Adventures of Korzinkina'' (1941), ''The Night Patrol'' (1957) and the adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's classic ''The Twelve Chairs'' (1971), which granted him the People's Artist of the RSFSR title in 1974. Sergey Alexandrovich Martinson (russian: Серге́й Александрович Мартинсон; – 2 September 1984) was a Russian eccentric comic actor, the master of pantomime, buffoonery and grotesque.
