We Are The Romans
''We Are the Romans'' is the second and final studio album by American metalcore band Botch. It was originally released in November 1999 through Hydra Head Records. Since its release, it has been seen as an influential album on metalcore and hardcore music. Recording In 1999, Botch recorded some live demos with Matt Bayles for their second studio album and follow up to '' American Nervoso''. Two months later, Botch returned to Litho Studios with Bayles to record what would become ''We Are the Romans''. The group only had approximately one week to track the album, and according to Knudson, the group " ushedto get everything done and do it as well as we wanted to." Botch (band)
Botch is an American mathcore band formed in 1993 in Tacoma, Washington. The band, featuring Brian Cook, Dave Knudson, Tim Latona and Dave Verellen, spent four years as a garage band and released several demos and EPs before signing to Hydra Head Records. Through the label, Botch released two studio albums: '' American Nervoso'' (1998) and '' We Are the Romans'' (1999). The group toured extensively and internationally in support of their albums with like-minded bands such as The Blood Brothers, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ink & Dagger and Jesuit. Botch struggled to write a third studio album, and in 2002 the group broke up due to tensions among the band members and creative differences. Hydra Head posthumously released an EP of songs the group had been working on before they split titled '' An Anthology of Dead Ends'' and a live album documenting their final show titled ''061502'' in 2006. Krazy Fest
Krazy Fest (originally stylized as Krazy✻Fest!) was an American music festival hosted in Louisville, Kentucky. It ran annually from 1998–2003, with a one-off comeback in 2011. The first three editions were held during Memorial Day Weekend in mid-late May. From 2001–2003, it was held between mid-June to early August. The event was first organized by Scott Ritcher (then-vocalist of Metroschifter) and Andy Rich, both co-owners the emotional hardcore record label Initial Records, in partnership with Jason Noble, then-vocalist of Shipping News, and Mark Brickey, then-vocalist of The Enkindels. Noble and Brickey were also involved with Initial Records in various functions. Ryan Patterson, senior vice-president of Initial Records, came on board in 2001. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Despite regrouping to write and record the song, the members of Botch have stated the band has not reunited and is not active. Harkonen was an American post-hardcore band from Tacoma, Washington, most active between 1997 and 2005. History Harkonen began around 1997 originally as a five-piece that played noisy hardcore similar to artists such as Deadguy and Kiss It Goodbye.
