Dissident Prophet is an apocalyptic indie rock band from Birmingham, England. They have released six albums so far; ''We're Not Grasshoppers'', in 1996; with a follow-up, ''21st Century Spin'' (as Maccabees), released in 2002; ''Modern Man (Maccabees), Modern Man'' (as Maccabees), in 2005; ''Weapons of Mass Deception'', in 2012; ''Red Moon Rising'', in 2015. ''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication ''Mixmag''). It was first published on 6 June 1981 as a one-off supplement in the ''Sounds'' newspaper. Named after the onomatopoeic word that derives from the sound made when playing a power chord on a distorted electric guitar, ''Kerrang!'' was initially devoted to the new wave of British heavy metal and the rise of hard rock acts. Moggerhanger Park
Moggerhanger House is a Grade I-listed country house in Moggerhanger, Bedfordshire, England, designed by the eminent architect John Soane. The house is owned by a Christian charity, Harvest Vision, and the Moggerhanger House Preservation Trust, and has recently undergone a £7m refurbishment project with help from organisations such as the Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage, World Monuments Fund and the East of England Development Agency. History The original house at Moggerhanger was small and of Georgian design. The house was acquired by Godfrey Thornton, a Bank of England director, who commissioned the Bank's architect, John Soane, to remodel it between 1790 and 1793. Creation Fest
Creation Fest is a free Christian music festival, which takes place on the first weekend of August in the Royal Cornwall Showground, Cornwall, England. Prior to 2009 it was held in neighbouring Devon. History The California-based Calvary Chapel established a church 'plant' (a new congregation) in Woolacombe, North Devon, in 2000. The following year the church members were given a vision to put on a Christian music festival, and Creation Fest was born. The first festival was in the summer of 2002 as a one-day event and has grown as an event to a three-day festival. The festival was originally based in Woolacombe, and ministered to the people of North Devon as well as people from all over the world. Kings Heath
Kings Heath (historically, and still occasionally King's Heath) is a suburb of south Birmingham, England, four miles south of the city centre. Historically in Worcestershire, it is the next suburb south from Moseley on the A435, Alcester road. History Kings Heath came into being as a village in the 18th century when improvements to the Alcester to Birmingham road acted as a catalyst for the development of new houses and farms. Paul Poulton
Paul Poulton is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist and writer. Born in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England, he has released fifteen albums, eight singles and four books since 1989. That year Paul did over a hundred performances in his first year on the road as a Singer/Songwriter. He tours in the UK and US, appearing at a variety of venues. His song "Flaky People" was played extensively by Mid-West American radio station WQRP in the late 1990s. The song talked about flaky leaders who fool around, which became poignant at the time of the Bill Clinton – Monica Lewinsky scandal. Poulton performs as a solo performer with an acoustic guitar and also with his band the Paul Poulton Project. He is noted as a skilled guitarist. Great Malvern is an area of the spa town of Malvern, Worcestershire, England. Andrew Marston
Andrew Marston (born 24 October 1981) is an English radio presenter, music producer and club DJ. He works with musicians under the BBC Music Introducing scheme. He was the first person to give airtime to artists such as Ellie Goulding, Becky Hill and 220 Kid. Early career Marston represented his school as a musician playing keyboards in various bands and with their orchestra. It was through a couple of gigs he did for the church and the city's MP where he was offered his first paid job playing the church organ at St Barnabas and at All Saints in Hereford. Weapons of Mass Deception is pejorative expression used by some people to describe U.S. President George W. Bush's claim that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction as justification for the war on Iraq. The variation Weapons of Mass Distraction has also been used by pundits and satirists. This punning alteration accuses the Bush administration of using the war in Iraq to draw the nation's attention away from other problems, such as the economic recession of 2002. The meaning was later inverted to describe Bush's alleged attempts to divert attention away from the war following a drop in public support for the war.
