Wayne Harrison (footballer Born 1967)
Wayne Harrison (15 November 1967 – 25 December 2013) was an English professional footballer who played as a striker. He is most famous for his record-breaking transfer from Oldham Athletic to Liverpool, where he became the world's most expensive 17-year-old, but his time at Anfield was blighted by a succession of injuries which eventually forced him to retire aged just 23. Career Born in Stockport, Harrison grew up a fan of Liverpool, and his heroes were Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan. After starting his career with Oldham Athletic, he later progressed to the first team, becoming Oldham's youngest ever player at the age of 16. He then made the move to Liverpool, where he was loaned out to Oldham and Crewe Alexandra, making a total of 10 appearances in the Football League. Stockport
Stockport is a town and borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. The River Goyt and Tame merge to create the River Mersey here. Stepping Hill Hospital
Stepping Hill Hospital is in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. It is managed by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. History The facility was first established on Stepping Hill as the Stepping Hill Poor Law Hospital in December 1905. The facility became a military hospital during the First World War and joined the National Health Service as the Stepping Hill Municipal Hospital in 1948. In an incident which began in July 2011, 3 patients were found to have been unlawfully killed by poisoning at the hospital. The United Kingdom's first prostate cancer operation using a hand-held robot was undertaken at the hospital in March 2012. Boundary Park
Boundary Park is a football stadium in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. Its name originates from the fact that it lies at the northwestern extremity of Oldham, with Royton and Chadderton lying immediately north and west respectively. Boundary Park was originally known as the Athletic Ground when it was opened in 1896 for Oldham's first professional football club, Oldham County F.C.. When County folded in 1899, Pine Villa F.C. took over the ground and changed their name to Oldham Athletic. Oldham Athletic A.F.C. have played their home games here since the stadium was opened. Tom Saunders
Tom Saunders (1921 – 8 July 2001) was a notable figure in Bill Shankly’s Boot Room organisation at Liverpool FC, and served 30 years with the club. Earlier years Tom Saunders was born in Liverpool in 1921. He joined the Territorial Army as a 16-year-old and spent four years in North Africa. He played amateur football for New Brighton, Burscough, Fleetwood, Marine and Prescot Cables. He then took up a teaching post at Olive Mount Secondary School in Wavertree spending 17 years there before becoming head of the lower school at West Derby Comprehensive. He became interested in schoolboy football and managed Liverpool Schoolboys. He then went on to become the English schoolboy coach and held the position for ten years.
