Water skiing competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara were held from October 20 to October 23 at the Boca Laguna Water Ski Track. Qualification The top seven countries at the 2010 Pan American Championship in Santiago, Chile + Mexico can send a maximum of 4 athletes (up to 3 for any gender) + one wakeboard athlete. All other countries can enter a maximum of 2 athletes (1 male and 1 female) and 1 wakeboard athlete. The maximum quota is 40 male, 32 female and 8 wakeboard (male only) athletes (80 total). The wakeboard category is full, so countries not qualified can only send water skiers, if they meet the minimum requirements. Regina Jaquess (born June 7, 1984) is an American water skier. She had won awards in the sport by age 13 and won medals in Water skiing at the 2003 Pan American Games. In that same year she won at the Water Ski World Championship. Whitney McClintock (born October 2, 1989) is a Canadian water skier from Cambridge, Ontario. McClintock is a five time world champion. McClintock has also won thirteen Pan American Games medals (four gold and seven silver). Career World Championships McClintock has won multiple World Championships medals. Alejandro de Vivar (1635–1660), better known as Mestizo Alejo, was a Chilean mestizo, who fought in the Arauco War. He was the son of the Mapuche cacique Curivilú and the Spanish Isabel de Vivar y Castro who was captured during a Mapuche raid.
