''Washington Heights'' is an American docu-reality television series on MTV. The series debuted on January 9, 2013, and concluded on March 13, 2013. Premise The series follows the lives of nine primarily Dominican young adults who live in Washington Heights. Each one of them has their own individuality, and dreams they wish to pursue but they all have to face personal issues and obstacles along the way while living in the neighborhood that has brought them together like family. Washington Heights, Manhattan
Washington Heights is a neighborhood in the uppermost part of the New York City borough of Manhattan. It is named for Fort Washington, a fortification constructed at the highest natural point on Manhattan by Continental Army troops to defend the area from the British forces during the American Revolutionary War. Washington Heights is bordered by Inwood to the north along Dyckman Street, by Harlem to the south along 155th Street, by the Harlem River and Coogan's Bluff to the east, and by the Hudson River to the west. MTV (Originally an initialism of Music Television) is an American cable channel that launched on August 1, 1981. Based in New York City, it serves as the flagship property of the MTV Entertainment Group, part of Paramount Media Networks, a division of Paramount Global.
