Warren Bryant (American Football)
Warren Bryant (November 11, 1955 – October 10, 2021) was an American professional American football, football player who was an Tackle (gridiron football position), offensive tackle from 1977 through 1984 in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Kentucky. He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1977 NFL draft with the sixth overall pick.He was a Fan favorite. Made many Personal Appearances in and around the Atlanta Area. Bryant died on October 10, 2021, in Smyrna, Georgia. He was 65. Tackle (gridiron Football Position)
Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown. 1977 NFL Draft
The 1977 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 3–4, 1977, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, New York. The league also held its first supplemental draft, which took place after the regular draft and before the regular season. This was the first draft in the common draft era (since 1967) to be 12 rounds, five rounds fewer than drafts of 1967–1976.
