Walls (The Rocket Summer Song)
"Walls" is the lead single from The Rocket Summer's album ''Of Men and Angels''. The song was written by The Rocket Summer frontman-and sole member-Bryce Avary, and was released in February 2010. In an interview with AOL, Avary stated that the song is "about struggles and about having issues in your life that you just can't seem to quite get a grip on, whether that's depression or whether that's anything." Promotion The Rocket Summer premiered the single in an acoustic performance at To Write Love On Her Arms' Heavy and Light on January 9, 2010. On January 13, 2010, "Walls" became available for listening on the band's MySpace. The Rocket Summer is the solo-project of Bryce Avary, a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and record producer based in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. He writes and produces every song on his records, and plays every instrument on them. He has released seven studio albums and several EPs. His fifth release in 2012, ''Life Will Write the Words'', was 58 on The ''Billboard'' 200 and 12 on '' Billboard'' Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums as well as 12 on Top Independent Albums. His fourth release, ''Of Men and Angels'', held the No. 1 Top Album spot on iTunes upon its release in 2010. '' AP Magazine'' called him one of "100 bands you need to know." Do You Feel
''Do You Feel'' is The Rocket Summer's third full-length album, released on July 17, 2007 through Island Records. On this album, Bryce Avary incorporates more diverse instrumentation, including saxophone. Initially available on MySpace on July 10, the entire album was leaked onto the Internet on July 13. Following its release, the album debuted at number 44 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200, selling about 15,000 copies in its first week. To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) is an American nonprofit organization that aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury and thoughts of suicide, while also investing in treatment and recovery. Based in Melbourne, Florida, TWLOHA seeks to connect people to treatment centers, websites, books, support groups, helplines, and other resources. TWLOHA also encourages people to have honest conversations about mental health, and to live in community. The organization's name is a direct reference to the first person the organization helped to receive treatment for addiction and self-harm, a young addict who self-harmed by cutting the words "Fuck Up" on her arm with a razor blade.
