Wallace De Souza
Wallace Leandro de Souza (born 26 June 1987), known by the mononym Wallace, is a Brazilian volleyball player, member of the Brazil men's national volleyball team, 2016 Olympic Champion, silver medallist of the Olympic Games (London 2012), 2014 and 2018 World Championship, three–time South American Champion ( 2011, 2013, 2017). After winning the bronze medal of 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, he announced his retirement from Brazil national team. In January 2023 Wallace expressed his desire to see Brazilian president Lula murdered, publishing a social media poll alongside a photo of himself holding a gun, asking his followers “Would you shoot Lula in the face with this 12 hotgun? The 2013 Men's South American Volleyball Championship was the 30th edition of the tournament, organised by CSV. It was held in Cabo Frio, Brazil from 6 to 10 August 2013. The top two teams qualified for the 2014 World Championship and the champions also qualified for the 2013 World Grand Champions Cup. South American Men's Volleyball Championship
The Men's South American Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of South America, organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol ( CSV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1967 they have been awarded every two years. The competition has been dominated by Brazil, which won 33 of the 34 editions. The only tournament not won by Brazil was the 1964 championship, when the team did not compete due to political turmoil in the country. Volleyball competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara were held from October 15 to October 29 at the Pan American Volleyball Stadium (indoor) and the Pan American Beach Volleyball Stadium (beach) in Puerto Vallarta. The Pan American Games (also known colloquially as the Pan Am Games) is a continental multi-sport event in the Americas featuring summer sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 28th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament played by 36 teams between 2 June and 8 July. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Curitiba, Brazil. In front of a crowd of 23,149 fans, France lifted the FIVB Volleyball World League trophy for the second time of their history, prevailing on an epic battle over hosts Brazil 3–2. 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 27th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament which was played by a record of 36 teams from 16 June to 17 July 2016. The Group 1 final round was held in Kraków, Poland. After being runners-up on five occasions, Serbia finally claimed their first World League after prevailing over Brazil in straight sets. The defending champions France claimed their first ever bronze medal at the World League after a fast victory in straight sets against Italy. Marko Ivović was elected the most valuable player. The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).
