Wake Forest Demon Deacons Women's Soccer
The Wake Forest University Demon Deacons women's soccer team is an amateur, NCAA Division I college soccer team composed of students attending Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They achieved their best NCAA Tournament result in 2011, when they reached the College Cup. Like all sports teams from Wake Forest, women's soccer competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Deacons play their home matches at Spry Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest. History 1990s Wake Forest fielded its first team in 1994, under the coaching of Chris Turner. The Deacons went 8–9–0 in their first season. However, all of those 8 wins came outside the Atlantic Coast Conference. Despite the team's 0–6 conference record, they still qualified for the ACC Women's Soccer Tournament, where they would lose in the first round. Spry Stadium
W. Dennie Spry Soccer Stadium (usually called Spry Stadium) is a soccer-specific stadium located on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where it is home to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer and Wake Forest Demon Deacons women's soccer, women's soccer teams. Opened in 1996, W. Dennie Spry Soccer Stadium is home to the Wake Forest men's and women's soccer programs. Considered one of the top soccer facilities in the country, the 3,000-seat stadium is considered a jewel in Wake Forest's family of athletic facilities and gives the Demon Deacons a true home field advantage. The Spry Stadium complex features a fully lit natural grass playing field along with two lit natural grass practice fields. Katherine Nicole Stengel (born February 29, 1992) is an American soccer player who plays for Liverpool of the Barclays Women's Super League. She previously played for the Boston Breakers, Washington Spirit, the Utah Royals and the Houston Dash in the NWSL. FC Gold Pride
FC Gold Pride was an American professional soccer club based in the San Francisco Bay Area, which participated in Women's Professional Soccer. The club replaced the San Jose CyberRays of the defunct Women's United Soccer Association as the top-level women's soccer team in the San Francisco Bay Area. FC Gold Pride moved to its final home of Pioneer Stadium on the campus of CSU East Bay in June 2010 after opening their 2010 home schedule at the Castro Valley High School Athletic Stadium. Madison Guadalupe Hammond (born November 15, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Angel City FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Early life Madison Hammond was born in November 1997. Her mother was in the military, so although she grew up in Albuquerque, NM, she moved to Virginia when she was 9 years old. Aubrey Renee Kingsbury (; born November 20, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. Early life Kingsbury was born in Cincinnati to Paul and Char Bledsoe. She attended St. Ursula Academy where she was a member of the state championship soccer team in 2007 and 2008.
