Waiting For Superman (song)
"Waiting for Superman" is a song co-written by Chris Daughtry for his band Daughtry's fourth studio album, ''Baptized''. It was released as the lead single from the album on September 17, 2013. An electropop ballad, the song was co-written by Sam Holland and Boys Like Girls lead singer Martin Johnson. The latter also served as the record producer. The song's title and lyrics are references to the comic book superhero Superman and contains other allusions and metaphors to the comic—including Lois Lane and Metropolis. Promotion and release During early September, Daughtry announced on Twitter that fans would be able to help unlock the single artwork via the band's official website; this took them to Hyperactive, a social media promotion which would let them add their Facebook or Twitter profile photo to the artwork itself and contribute in building the image of the single. Daughtry is an American rock band formed and fronted by namesake Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season of ''American Idol''. Their self-titled debut album was released in November 2006 and reached number one on the ''Billboard'' 200. Lois Lane is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, she first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #1 (June 1938). The Digital Songs or Digital Song Sales chart (previously named Hot Digital Songs) ranks the best-selling digital songs in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published by ''Billboard'' magazine. Although it originally started tracking song sales the week of October 30, 2004, it officially debuted in the issue dated January 22, 2005, and merged all versions of a song sold from digital music distributors. Its data was incorporated in the Hot 100 three weeks later. Since October 2004, digital sales have been incorporated into many of ''Billboard''s music singles charts. The decision was based on the dramatic increase of the digital market while commercial single sales in a physical format were becoming negligible. "What About Now" is the seventh single from American rock band Daughtry's self titled debut album. The song is a ballad, that was written by Ben Moody, David Hodges (both former members of Evanescence), and Josh Hartzler, who is married to Amy Lee (the lead singer of Evanescence). It is one of only two songs on the album not at least co-written by Chris Daughtry. The song was announced as the band's next single on their website. It was officially released in the U.S. on July 1, 2008. A year later, pop group Westlife released a version of the song which reached No. 2 in the Irish Singles Chart and UK Singles Chart. Early life and education Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California, the son of Deanna, a homemaker, and William Patrick Muldoon II, a personal injury lawyer.
