Wagner (footballer, Born 1978)
Wagner Santos Lago (born 1 January 1978), known as Wagner, is a Brazilian football manager and former player who is the current youth coach of Bosnian Premier League club Široki Brijeg. He played 13 years for Široki Brijeg, where he was also the club captain and won one league title and three cups. Wagner would later go on to manage the under-19 team of Široki Brijeg. Playing career Early career Born in Ilhéus, Brazil, Wagner began playing football with local clubs in the Bahia, Goiás and São Paulo state competitions before embarking on a fifteen-year career in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He left Jaboticabal Atlético for Posušje in July 2003. Široki Brijeg In the summer of 2005, Wagner went to Široki Brijeg where he played the best games in his entire career and also won one league title and three national cups. The Bosnian Footballer of the Year, since 2008 renamed to ''Idol Nacije'' (English translation: ''The Idol of the nation''), is an annual award given to the best Bosnian football player of the year, as well as recognising and awarding other sports men and women, coaches and game officials in the country. The event was held in 2001 under the Bosnian banner for the first time, with Sergej Barbarez winning the most prestigious award for best player of the year, and again in 2003. The winner qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. Ricardo Santos Lago (born 10 September 1980), best known as Ricardo Baiano, is a retired professional football midfielder who is currently the Youth Academy Manager of FC Krasnodar.
