WNBA Basketball Executive Of The Year Award
The WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year Award is an annual Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) award first presented after the league's 2017 WNBA season, 2017 regular season. The winner is selected at the end of the regular season by a panel consisting of one executive from each of the WNBA's 12 teams, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place. Panel members are not allowed to vote for themselves. Each first-place vote is worth five points; each second-place vote is worth three points; and each third-place vote is worth one point. 2021 WNBA Season
The 2021 WNBA season was the 25th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Seattle Storm were the defending champions. In the playoffs, the Chicago Sky won in four games over the Phoenix Mercury. The 2024 Minnesota Lynx season was the 26th season for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association, and the fifteenth season under head coach Cheryl Reeve. The season tipped-off on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Seattle against the Seattle Storm. The Lynx went 4–1 in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup Western Conference standings, and clinched a spot in the Cup Final against the New York Liberty on June 13, 2024. Jonathan Kolb
Jonathan Kolb is an American basketball executive and the General Manager of the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). In 2023, he was named WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year. Kolb was hired by the Liberty organization in March 2019, following its transfer of ownership to Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, and helped transition the team from Westchester to a new era in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. The 2022 Chicago Sky season was the franchise's 17th season in the Women's National Basketball Association, and their fourth season under head coach James Wade. They were the defending league champions after defeating the Phoenix Mercury in the 2021 WNBA Finals. Entering the offseason, the Sky only had four players from the previous season under contract. The team re-signed Courtney Vandersloot, Allie Quigley, and Kahleah Copper and added Emma Meesseman via free agency. Free agent Stefanie Dolson departed the team and signed with the New York Liberty. James Wade (born August 15, 1975), known as Coco, is an American-French basketball assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). With the Chicago Sky, Wade won the WNBA's WNBA Coach of the Year Award, Coach of the Year and WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year Award, Executive of the Year awards in 2019 and 2022 respectively, and led the Sky to their first 2021 WNBA Finals, WNBA Championship in 2021. The 2021 Las Vegas Aces season was the franchise's 25th season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the 4th year the franchise was based in Las Vegas. The regular season tipped off on May 15, 2021 at the Seattle Storm. The Aces started the season by splitting a two game set in Seattle in a rematch of last year's finals. After that set, they won four of their remaining five games in May, with their only other loss coming against Connecticut. They lost their opening game in June, but went on a five game winning streak from there. The streak was snapped in Minnesota, in overtime, in a one point loss to the Lynx.
