W. R. Bass
William Rybolt Bass (August 12, 1874 – October 25, 1951) was an American college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kentucky State College—now known as the University of Kentucky—from 1898 to 1899, compiling a record of 12–2–2. Terrace Park, Ohio
Terrace Park is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio, and a wealthy suburb of Greater Cincinnati. The population was 2,251 at the 2010 census. History The primary document for the history of Terrace Park is "A Place Called Terrace Park" by Ellis Rawnsley (1992). Rawnsley notes that the earliest human inhabitants of Terrace Park may have arrived as early as 12,000 years ago—the Paleo-Indians. Although "no traces of established settlements have ever been found," flints showing evidence of these nomadic people have been found in various locations in the areas surrounding Terrace Park. Circa approximately 1000 B.C., settlements appeared in Hamilton County, Ohio. According to Rawnsley, "Two thousand or more years ago, a primitive people built, in what is now Terrace Park, one of the largest of its kind of the 295 prehistoric earthworks ever found in Hamilton County." The Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops are the sports and other competitive teams at Ohio Wesleyan University. The men's and women's Bishops teams are NCAA Division III teams that compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference. The university sponsors 25 varsity sports, as well as several intramural and club teams. History The first athletic teams of the college date back to 1875, the year of the first organized football team, although fifteen years passed before official colors were selected and the football team started playing its intercollegiate contest. That year the team played three games with Ohio State University, losing all three.
