Vũ Quốc Uy
Vũ Quốc Uy (1920–1994) was a Vietnamese writer and cultural politician. Uy was born into a small intellectual family in Nam Định Province, Vietnam. He was lucky to study in a Thanh Chung level school, so he soon felt sensitive to the cultural life and art of urban youth. He soon wished "to open a small bookshop and freely read the new books". Actively acting in the field of culture and art, Vũ Quốc Uy was suddenly arrested and put under house arrest by the French in 1944. In April 1945, he escaped from house arrest and intended to go to the liberation area in Viet Bac but was reassigned to Haiphong. Nam Định Province
Nam Định () ( vi, Tỉnh Nam Định) is a Provinces of Vietnam, province in the southern part of the Red River Delta region of northern Vietnam. It borders Ninh Bình , Ninh Bình province to the southwest, Hà Nam province to the northwest, Thái Bình province to the northeast, and the Gulf of Tonkin to the southeast. , it is the 52nd largest province by area and the 12th most populous province of Vietnam. Haiphong
Haiphong ( vi, Hải Phòng, ), or Hải Phòng, is a major industrial city and the third-largest in Vietnam. Hai Phong is also the center of technology, economy, culture, medicine, education, science and trade in the Red River delta. Haiphong was founded in 1887 as a major seaport city of Vietnam. In 1888, the president of the French Third Republic, Sadi Carnot, promulgated a decree to establish Haiphong. From 1954 to 1975, Haiphong served as the most important maritime city of North Vietnam, and it became one of direct-controlled municipalities of a reunified Vietnam with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 1976.
